The snow on the lake was good this weekend so I just had to take that last spin. Checked the odometer and the big red ma had 2834 new miles and the older blue aris had 176 fresh miles  giving me a grand total of about 3010 miles for the season. (about average)  It sure would have been nice if last weeks snow storm was on New Years eve instead of the rain. It would have been a nice base and salvaged not only New years weekend but the first weekends in January as well. We really can not complain we had got out before Christmas two years in a row and that hasn't happened in a while. I think I need a dirt bike or an ATV now.

I put on about 20 this weekend.  The trails will most likely close by the end of the week with rain and 50's in the forecast.  Its been a great year for me on the sled.

2303 total miles as of 2/27/11. 673 miles in the last 4 days with my cousin visiting from Florida. WE never made it past Wabeno North or Breed South. Red Arrow and Polar Blazers trails were best. We saw the Lilly groomer allot and appreciated that. The LMT 2 and 4 were not groomed as of Friday morning and they would have been much better if they were. Lets hope for some snow on Thursday to give us another weekend.

Another 40 miles today, went further west to Chickadee, down and around to Sullivan Springs and the golf course, back to the lake.  Any road riding was horrible, no ice or base at all.  Trails were okay, saw a lot more sleds out than we thought we would.  Back in the woods it's great.  I think this is the end unless we get a lot of snow.  Put some Seafoam in the tank just in case.  We just didn't get out as much as we'd have liked.  Last year we did 175 miles in one LONG day, went up north of Laona and did the big loop up there.  Great ride but desolate, gotta know where your gas stations are!

Our neighbor on Wheeler Lake did about 100 miles on Friday the 25th. Said the snow north of Lakewood/Townsend was not so good, west of the lakewood area toward Antigo was much better.

Bonus ride!  25 more quick miles last night-Wheeler Lake to Waube, Jack Pine camp across to golf course, fish fry at Sandtrap.  Trails here not bad, icy, grass sticking up, bare spots in the clearings, all in all much better than I thought they would be.  Not the best riding we've had but not the worst either.  Reports of worse to the north, went to Iron Mountain by car today and didn't see a single sled.  The trails we could see were bad there, less snow to the north.

Paul Bunyan Riders is reporting only 3-4 inches received.  Let's hope we get more snow this week.

Got us beat! But I just started snowmobiling again this year after a 25 year hiatus and my kids have never gone before.

My mother went on the first Women on Snow trip back in 1986 in Eagle River. They had a great time that year.

Hopefully there will be enough snow by Tuesday to get back on the trails.Smile

Unfortunately we only put on about 200 miles this year together:(  I went with Women on Snow out of Waubee and had a blast, put on about 160 miles that very cold weekend.  Either I was working, sleeping or it was too cold to go out.  Now there's no snow left.  This was pitiful as last year we went 175 miles in one day!
